It’s Time For America’s Military Heroes!

This isn’t just my theme, it’s the truth. If ever there were a time to stand up and remind this country who the real heroes of our nation are, it is now. Let us not be blinded by other messages proclaiming politicians, sports stars and celebrities are the stuff of legends. Let us announce to all who will listen that the men and women who wear our country’s uniform are the ones to earn our respect.

We are the female relatives of those who have served on foreign soil defending not only the ideal of liberty but our very way life. We watched them leave, but we didn’t welcome all of them home. Sacrifice is a word we understand all too well.

That is why it’s time. It’s Time for America’s Military Heroes, and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars is standing up and giving voice to these men and women. We are here for you, through deployment and beyond.

About the President...

Jan Tittle is from South Carolina. She is eligible through her father, Arlen Owens, a World War II Purple Heart recipient. She has been a member for 27 years and has served in numerous capacities on all levels of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. Mrs. Tittle is also retired from 21 years in management in the auto industry and has a Realtor license. She spent many years reaching out to youth through her love of horses, and she has a passion for raising money for cancer research. Mrs. Tittle and husband, Dan, have two grown children and one grandchild.

Jan Tittle and her husband, Daniel, met President Obama at the 2009 National Convention, where he was a guest of the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
